A team of 15 staff members from The Revenue Club will be taking to the fairways later this week to play four rounds in a day to raise funds for Bowel Cancer UK.
The business growth agency, which operates with 250 golf courses across the UK and Ireland, will be teeing off at 6am on June 19 at Get Golfing’s Ansty Golf Centre near Coventry, where they will embark on a challenge that will see the team cover more than 20 miles during the course of the 72-hole event.
The reason they have chosen the charity is to support Revenue Club director Chris Knight, who has undergone treatment for bowel cancer in the last 18 months which was expertly carried out by doctors at the Countess of Chester Hospital. The effects of the disease are ongoing, but the Revenue Club wants to do something positive to help others avoid it in the future and ensure that treatment continues to evolve.
The team is aiming to raise £2,000 in aid of Bowel Cancer UK, the organisation funds targeted research, provides expert information and support to patients and their families, educates the public and professionals about the disease, and campaigns for early diagnosis and access to best treatment and care.
