The Golf Trust is celebrating an generous contribution from Ushma Patel, Lady Captain of Purley Downs Golf Club in South London, who has raised an impressive £14,200 to support the charity’s mission of making golf accessible to people of all backgrounds and abilities.

Throughout her captaincy year, Ushma championed The Golf Trust.  Her fundraising efforts included her Captain’s Charity Day, a Bridge Drive, a Bunker Fee season ticket and various auctions throughout the year all of which brought members together and highlighted the power of golf to change lives.

Ushma said: “I’ve been truly overwhelmed by the generosity of the Purley Downs community. It’s been incredibly special to support a charity that opens the game to people who might never otherwise have the chance to experience it.”

Cae Menai-Davis, The Golf Trust’s founder, praised Ushma’s dedication, saying: “Ushma’s passion for inclusion has made a real impact. £14,200 will help us deliver more sessions in schools, disability groups, and underserved communities.  Her support embodies everything we believe golf can be — welcoming, inclusive, and transformative.”

The funds raised will directly support programmes that introduce golf to young people, individuals with disabilities, and communities with limited access to sport. The Golf Trust continues to expand its reach across the UK, using golf as a tool for wellbeing, confidence-building, and social connection.
