Over 50 UK clubs sign up to Faldo Futures Series

1.25pm 16th February 2024 - Sponsorship & Events

The Faldo Futures Series has got off to a flying start in its quest to find host clubs to stage qualifying events for 7-12 year olds, with over 50 clubs having so far signed up, including leading golf operators Crown Golf and The Club Company.

Aimed exclusively at this younger age group, host clubs will stage their own competition between March 22 and April 14. They’ll also receive full support including a digital competition platform, promotional pack, official Faldo Venue logo and prizes for the winners.

A total of 12 players from each host club will qualify for the Regional Finals, held at 8 selected venues across the UK, with the winners of these competing at the grand final at The Belfry during British Masters week in August.

James Gathercole, Chief Operating Officer at Crown Golf, comments, “We’re thrilled to be supporting this new series from the charitable trust established by Sir Nick Faldo some 29 years ago. This younger age group is often overlooked within the golf industry, yet their exposure to the sport during these formative years can set the trend for their ongoing participation in later life.”

“Our venues, including St Mellion International Resort, are looking forward to staging qualifying rounds, where we’ll be using shortened courses to help enhance participants enjoyment of the day. Our events will be open to all levels of golfing ability, as well as to both boys and girls.”

Other clubs that will be hosting qualifying events include Sunningdale Heath, Cumberwell Park in Wiltshire, Royal Ascot in Berkshire and Formby Hall in Cheshire. The Club Company, the UK’s largest golf operator, are also participating at all 15 country clubs around the country, including The Warwickshire, Woodbury Park, Tyhterington and Nizels.
