Motocaddy, a member of the British Golf Industry Association has joined four of golf’s most successful manufacturing companies in supporting the BGIA’s innovative Grow Golf campaign.

Acushnet Europe, Callaway Golf, PING Europe, and TaylorMade-adidas Golf all pay an annual levy based on their UK turnover into the Grow Golf scheme, aimed at stimulating golf participation across all age groups, geographic regions and social backgrounds within the UK.

The addition of Motocaddy has come at a perfect time, with the initiative really making progress having recently donated the second £40,000 of a three year pledge to The Golf Foundation’s Golf Roots programme, which is impressively committed to reaching 1million children a year by 2013.

“We are excited to be involved in this great scheme to help support golf at grass roots level” said David Wells, Motocaddy Chairman. “It is very important for manufacturers to give something back to grow the game further in the future and help bring through the golfing stars of tomorrow.” he added.

Speaking of their support, Grow Golf Chairman Bob Smith said “Motocaddy’s contribution highlights their commitment to support this industry-wide cause dedicated to giving back to the game”.  He went on to say “we hope that this move will urge other companies to follow suit as further support from the industry can enable the scheme to become a major contributor to the future growth of the game.

The four founding brands Acushnet Europe, Callaway Golf, PING Europe, and TaylorMade-adidas Golf started the ball rolling when they provided the original seed fund back in April 2007 and since then, significant funds have been donated to the great work shown by the Golf Foundations ‘Golf Roots’ projects.
