Matt Wallace joins Callaway Tour Staff

8.54am 15th January 2020 - Sponsorship & Events

Callaway Golf has announced the signing of Englishman Matt Wallace as the newest member of its Staff Professional team.

Wallace is one of the rising stars of the game, already a four-time winner on the PGA European Tour, and is comfortably ranked in the world’s Top 50 (currently No. 32). The 29-year-old Londoner will kick-off his 2020 campaign as a full Staff Professional at this week’s Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, where he will immediately put the company’s just-launched MAVRIK Sub Zero Driver and Fairway Woods straight into competitive play.

Matt Wallace will be teeing it up as a Callaway staff player

MAVRIK Drivers feature Callaway’s new Flash Face SS20 architecture, designed by A.I., with a more expansive area that delivers ultra-fast ball speeds working in conjunction with Callaway’s proven Jailbreak Technology.

He will also rely on a host of other market-leading Callaway products including the new JAWS MD5 Wedges in 50°, 55° and 60° degree lofts. The wedges feature the new JAWS groove and Groove-in-Groove Technology, to deliver excellent spin and control around the greens.

He is also currently testing Callaway’s Apex Pro irons and a Odyssey prototype putter ahead of finalising his bag for the new season.

Wallace turned pro in 2012 and has made a rapid rise through the professional ranks, winning five consecutive Alps Tour starts in 2016 to secure full-time status on the European Tour. He has also made a huge impact on the PGA Tour, finishing T3 at the PGA Championship, T12 at the U.S. Open and T6 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

Looking forward to this week and the new season, Wallace commented: “I’ve been a Callaway fan since I was young, so it’s a thrill and an honour to become a member of the Callaway Tour Staff. I can’t wait to start working with Callaway’s tour team to get my new equipment dialed in for 2020.”

Tim Reed, Callaway SVP of Global Sports Marketing, added: “Matt’s a fantastic addition to the Callaway Staff. He’s an excellent ball-striker and putter who knows how to win. We can’t wait to see how high he can raise his game with the help of Callaway equipment.”
