Brown & Brown, one of Ireland’s leading insurance brokerages, has been announced as the title sponsor of this year’s Irish PGA Championship, which is taking place at Monkstown Golf Club in Munster from August 4-7.
The 115th Irish PGA Championship will now officially be known as The Brown & Brown Irish PGA Championship. This sponsorship reflects the company’s commitment to supporting the communities where its teammates live and work.
Diarmuid Nolan, CEO of Brown & Brown (Ireland), said: “We are a company that cares deeply about the communities we serve. We are proud to support events such as the Brown & Brown Irish PGA Championship, which have a positive impact on our communities throughout Ireland. This sponsorship is about creating moments that matter, for our customers, our teammates and the public.”
The Brown & Brown Irish PGA Championship brings the celebrated national championship back to Munster for the first time since 1997, when it was won by Paul McGinley.
“I’m thrilled to see Brown & Brown backing Irish golf,” Paul McGinley said. “It’s a proud and exciting moment for the sport. Having met Diarmuid and the Brown & Brown team through my long-term association with Allianz, I know this is a company that truly puts people and community at the heart of what it does.”
Conor Dillon, Manager, The PGA In Ireland, welcomed the partnership, noting its broader impact: “Brown & Brown’s support sends a powerful message about the role businesses can play in supporting Ireland’s sporting future. We are thrilled to welcome them as title sponsor and look forward to delivering a successful Championship together.”
Through collaboration with the Shifting Gears on Brain Health grant programme, Brown & Brown (Ireland) recently facilitated the awarding of over €230,000 in community grants to six Irish charities focused on brain and mental health — further illustrating the organisation’s belief in giving back and lifting others.
The 2025 Irish PGA Championship promises four days of elite competition, with several of Ireland’s top professional golfers set to compete, including the defending champion Niall Kearney.
