intelligentgolf extends support for Sir Henry Cooper Junior Golf Tournament

12.05am 23rd June 2014 - Sponsorship & Events

nz-golf-course2The golf management software provider, intelligentgolf (IG) has agreed to extend its support of The Sir Henry Cooper Junior Masters Golf Championship for a further 3 years. The IG software will be used to manage competition start times, live intra-day scoring for all competitors and assistance with the posting of results to organisations such as CONGU and World Amateur Golf Ranking.

Keith Woodgate, the newly appointed Tournament Director said “We have had a continuous relationship with IG for the past six years and throughout that time they have provided first class support to our tournament, stepping up to the mark when called upon.  Knowing that they will support us in the future is a major plus point for the running and the image of the Sir Henry Cooper.

“I was recently given a demonstration of further developments that IG have undertaken and I am hopeful that next year we can extend the use of IG’s software and services to further improve the administration of the tournament and the facilities that it provides for competitors and spectators alike”.

Henry CooperJamie Abbott, Managing Director intelligentgolf added, “This event is particularly close to our hearts at intelligentgolf, as it was the very first 72 hole event that we developed on-course scoring for.  It has grown in reputation and in the strength of the field, and we are delighted to continue our association with the event.”.

The Sir Henry Cooper Junior Masters is a World Amateur Golf Ranking Tournament for elite boys and girls. Since its inception in 1998 “The Henry Cooper”, as it is known, has become one of the leading Under-18 championships in Europe, if not the world, attracting 135 of the very best players in the world.

Staged as though it were a European Tour event, the players are treated as professionals and also take part (as the ‘Professionals’) in the unique Junior-‘Pro’/Am on the day before the tournament. The Junior-‘Pro’/Am raises funds for the Sir Henry Cooper Junior Masters Charitable Trust, which supports promising young golfers in their quest for professional status, as well as taking golf into schools for children from the age of five.
