Golf clubs across the Scottish Highlands have got together to tee up an exciting amateur photography competition, with cash prizes and green fee vouchers to world famous courses up for grabs for the winners and high commended entries.
More than 30 clubs, including Royal Dornoch, Boat of Garten, Brora, Cabot Highlands and Nairn, are members of the Golf Highland collective, ranging from historic community clubs to courses whose fame has spread around the globe.
Board member Shona Rankin, from Carrbridge Golf Club, said: “Our courses in the Highlands are among the most scenic and enjoyable in the country, offering visiting golfers everything from classic links to heathland and parkland experiences. What they have in common is a warm welcome, stunning backdrops and memorable individual features. The inaugural Golf Highland Photography Competition encourages golfers – members and visitors, even non-golfers – to capture images which will impress our panel of judges.”

The winning entrants across four categories will win £100 and a fourball voucher.
1. Best Scenic Golf Course Image: £100 and a fourball at Royal Dornoch
2. Best Image of Golfers at Play: £100 and a fourball at Royal Dornoch
3. Best Nature or Environmental feature on the course: £100 and a fourball at Cabot Highlands
4. Highly commended entries per category draw: fourball at Nairn Golf Club
“Our judges will be looking for images that show the courses at their best and golfers enjoying their game, whether on the tee, walking the fairways, sinking putts or even trying to escape a bunker – all with a backdrop capturing the beauty of the natural environment we enjoy here in the Highlands,” added Shona. “Golf Highland is delighted with the support we are receiving from Royal Dornoch, Cabot Highlands and Nairn.”
Entry details are available via www.golfhighland.com and the competition runs from April 1 through to September 30.
