Golf GameBook partners with British Junior Golf Tour

9.53am 5th October 2022 - Sponsorship & Events

Golf GameBook has partnered with British Junior Golf Tour (BJGT) for the next three years in an effort to provide a unified and holistic tournament experience for junior golfers in the UK and beyond.

Golf GameBook will become the Official Live Scoring Partner of BJGT, which will be using Golf GameBook’s Tournament Manager software.

“We are really proud to partner up with BJGT and to ensure an elevation for the Tour with extended golf tournament experiences for the juniors and their supporting teams,” said Fredrik Lindgren, Commercial Director, GB&I at Golf GameBook.

The agreement covers the use of Tournament Manager in BJGT events in the UK for the next three years and in the 2023 International World Junior Golf Championship tournament, which will be played in February at Amendoeira Golf Resort in Portugal. The Tournament Manager, which works seamlessly with the Golf GameBook application, will provide juniors playing on the BJGT, as well as their coaches, friends and families, with new tools to follow the tournaments and their favourite players.

In events organised with Tournament Manager, players can enter scores and view the leaderboard in real-time on the course through the Golf GameBook application. The live leaderboard can also be seen by friends, family, coaches and fans in the application, on the tournament website, and on big screens in the club house.

Steve Adams, Tour Director of British Junior Golf Tour, said: “Golf GameBook and Tournament Manager are a great addition to the Tour. People find the platform easy to use and it nicely supports our goal to grow BJGT and to increase the size of the World Junior Championship into a major event on the junior golf calendar.“

With over 140 000 registered users in the UK and over 1,6 million rounds played to date, Golf GameBook continues to expand its offering within the market through this partnership.

Lindgren added: “The app already has a strong market share in the Nordics. The cooperation with BJGT is a great addition to our ‘Growing the Game’ concept, which, in Sweden and Finland, culminates in season-long junior programmes with our partners there. Together with BJGT we now take a big step forward for junior golf in the UK, where we are expecting further growth in the coming years.”

British Junior Golf Tour aims to provide regular competitive, challenging, fun and affordable junior golf competitions across the UK. They organise 30-35 events per year as well as the World Junior Golf Championship tournament, and bring together over 700 juniors per year. BJGT is endorsed by DP World Tour as an Approved Golf Development Programme.

Golf GameBook has over 1.2 million registered users across more than 200 countries. The app can be downloaded through the App Store for iOS and Google Play for Android.
