For over 20 years Club Car has been the Official Golf Car for the European matches of the Ryder Cup, with key personnel depending on the reliability and comfort of Club Car vehicles.
On each occasion the fleet has grown in line with the growth of the event and this year an incredible 400 cars will be put into operation at Celtic Manor, where Club Car are the exclusive supplier of golf & utility vehicles.
For the Ryder Cup almost half of the vehicles on site will be utilised for TV crews and the remainder covering everything from rules officials, chief marshals, scoreboard officials and of course the Captains and their teams to services such as shuttle buses, catering and even ambulances.
In the run up to the 2010 Ryder Cup matches the greenkeeping staff at the Celtic Manor will be using a fleet of Club Car utility vehicles to get the course in tip top condition. During the event the greenkeeping staff will put these vehicles through their paces whilst carrying out numerous maintenance tasks including boxing off greens, repairing divots and even litter picking.
In addition to the turf vehicles, and the 150 Precedent golf cars already at Celtic Manor Club Car will also supplies around 250 additional vehicles that are commissioned as rules and marshals cars, to ferry medical personnel around the course and perhaps most importantly customised vehicles that are used to transport television crews and equipment right into the middle of the action.
