A luxury gin brand named as an official Supplier and Licensee of the 44th Ryder Cup has onboarded Scottish professional golfer Carly Booth to its growing team of dedicated ‘Brand Champions’ and advisors.
Confirmed as a supplier of all gin and gin-based cocktails at the iconic sporting event taking place in 2023, Old Tom Gin 1821 plans to utilise both Carly’s personal network and specialised knowledge and experience within the industry to help increase brand awareness leading up to the Ryder Cup and beyond.
Carly’s impressive career in golf began at age 11 when she became the youngest Ladies Club Champion in Britain, closely followed by her appearance in the Women’s Scottish Open at just 14 years old. From there she went on to win the European Junior Masters in 2007, as well as the Daily Telegraph Finals during the same year.
One of Carly’s greatest achievements to date was at the end of 2009 when she became the youngest ever Scot to qualify for the Ladies European Tour, aged just 17. More recently, she partnered with ESPN The Body for a photoshoot which was very well received and has helped her grow her profile considerably, especially in the USA.
As the second ‘Brand Champion’ to join the team, Carly will use her increasing presence on social media in assisting Old Tom Gin 1821 to drive credibility and availability across the UK and Ireland.
Founder of Old Tom Gin 1821, Giorgio Cozzolino, explained: “Created in St. Andrews and distilled using the finest Sicilian ingredients, Old Tom Gin 1821 represents a harmonious marriage between my Italian roots and my love for the Scottish town, where I have lived for the last six years.
“Although our upcoming involvement with the Ryder Cup in 2023 has meant Old Tom Gin 1821 has gained credibility within the high-end drinks market, we are keen to work alongside a number of influential individuals to help drive awareness and accessibility of the brand on an ongoing basis.
“Carly is an extremely talented young golfer who is full of ambition, energy and charisma. Her extensive experience and multiple accomplishments throughout her ongoing golfing career make her the ideal ‘Brand Champion’ for Old Tom Gin 1821, whilst her Scottish roots mean she boasts a unique personal connection to the brand. We couldn’t be happier to welcome Carly to the team and we look forward to kicking things off.”
Carly Booth added: “I am humbled to be part of the Old Tom Gin 1821 team for what will be a great duo. I look forward to building a positive and successful future together.”
Carly Booth, who played in the Scottish Open earlier this month, joins seasoned professional golfer Gary Evans who was announced as Old Tom Gin’s first ‘Brand Champion’ just a few weeks ago.
Having already taken the ‘Super Premium’ drinks category by storm, Old Tom Gin 1821 holds a long-term vision to become the gin brand of choice for consumers at prestigious venues and iconic sporting events worldwide, affirmed by its official partnership with the Ryder Cup in 2023.
Bottled at 43% ABV, Old Tom Gin 1821 has an RSP of £180.00 per 70cl bottle and is available to purchase from early September via the brand’s dedicated eCommerce store.
