Legends Tour prepares to swing into Argentario for Senior Italian Open

12.07pm 6th October 2022 - Sponsorship & Events

The Legends Tour returns to Argentario Golf & Wellness Resort in Tuscany later this month, where a host of top international professionals will once again descend on the 5-star resort from October 20-23 to compete in the Senior Italian Open.

One of Europe’s over-50s tour’s most popular events, past winners have included Sam Torrance and Clark Dennis – who won back-to-back titles in 2017 and 2018.

Those in action this year include a host of familiar names, including Michael Campbell, Barry Lane, Paul Lawrie and Italy’s very own Costantino Rocca, while defending champion James Kingston of South Africa also joins the impressive line-up.

Located in Porto Ercole on the Monte Argentario promontory, Argentario Golf Club is one of the country’s top courses and, testament to its quality, was awarded PGA National Italy status by the PGA in 2019. The championship layout will deliver a stern test for players, with narrow, tree-lined fairways, small greens and water hazards adding to the layout’s technical difficulty where a player’s accuracy will need to come to the fore.

Former Senior Italian Open champion Sam Torrance will be in action at Argentario

Alongside the staging of this prestigious event, a number of amateurs will be able to play in the Championship Pro-Am on October 20, as well as a special 36-hole competition October 21-22, in which every amateur will be able to accompany two professionals.

For those looking to stay at the resort during the tournament, there are packages for stays from two to five nights, including breakfast, registration for the golf competitions, welcome dinner and awards ceremony and entrance to the wellness centre.
