Online auction set to raise vital funds for West Sussex captain’s charities

Last month saw 52 members of West Sussex Golf Club complete a special '100 Holes In A Day Challenge' and raise over £65,000 for the Captain’s Charities – BreatheMagic and Sussex Cancer Fund.

Last month saw 52 members of West Sussex Golf Club complete a special ‘100 Holes In A Day Challenge’ and raise over £65,000 for the Captain’s Charities – BreatheMagic and Sussex Cancer Fund.

Golf course architect Tom Mackenzie is running an online charity auction to help to raise further funds for it, with the auction closing on July 17. 

Among a list of amazing prizes are opportunities to play renowned courses with respected figures in the golfing world. These include….

  • A round at West Sussex GC for three people with Club Professional Tim Packham.
  • A fourball at Liphook GC hosted by Master Greenkeeper & Course Manager David Murdoch.
  • A fourball at Blairgowrie’s Rosemount Course with Walker Cup Captain Stuart Wilson.
  • A fourball at Saunton’s East Course with Victorious PGA Cup Past-captain and Club Professional Albert Mackenzie.
  • A fourball at Royal Birkdale, Including a clubhouse tour hosted by club manager Michael Sawicki.
  • Two fourball rounds at Royal Dornoch with an overnight stay at the Links House.

The memorabilia prizes on offer include a collection of more than a 100 golf pencils from across the world, including Augusta National, Pine Valley and Cypress Point, as well as items signed by the likes of Tom Watson, Justin Rose, Henrik Stenson, Darren Clarke and Laura Davies.
