Memorabilia valuation days with Bonhams in Ireland

12.05am 5th October 2007 - Salesroom & Memorabilia

Following Bonhams’ recent successful sale, held in the Edinburgh salerooms in July 2007, Kevin McGimpsey, Bonhams’ golfing consultant and author of The Story of the Golf Ball, is now planning next year’s sales, scheduled for January and July 2008.

The January sale will be held in the Bonhams’ Chester saleroom on Saturday 26th January 2008, to coincide with the ever-popular Golfing Collector’s Fair in Chester, and the July sale will be held mid July to coincide with the Open Championship at Birkdale.

With both sales in mind, Kevin will be visiting Ireland to hold two valuation days dedicated to golfing memorabilia.

On Thursday 25th October, in conjunction with Adams Auctioneers, Kevin will be at James Adam & Sons Ltd, 26 St Stephens Green, Dublin.

On Friday 26th October Kevin will be at the Knock Golf Club, Summerfield, Dundonald.

Please call the Bonhams Chester office on 01244 313936 to make an appointment or for further information.

The highlight of the Edinburgh sale this year was a rare gold medal, won by the great Sir Henry Cotton at the 1937 Open Golf Championship in Carnoustie, which sold for a record £39,600, well above the pre-sale estimate of £25,000 – 30,000.
