The Academy of Golf Art, whose mission is to enhance the appreciation of golf art, has announced the addition of several new member artists.
“Golf art is garnering increasing appreciation as a fine art genre by golfers and art lovers around the world,” said Linda Hartough, a founding trustee of the Academy and a renowned golf-landscape artist. “We are pleased to welcome several new members into the Academy. Membership in the Academy of Golf Art proffers prestigious recognition to golf artists.”
Recent additions to the Academy’s roster of member artists include: Robert Fletcher, of Chicago, Ill.; Frankie Jones, of Charlotte, N.C.; Jennipher Satterly, of Upper Montclair, N.J.; and Aimee Smith, of Nashville, Tenn. Some samples of these artists’ work can be viewed on the Academy website, www.AcademyofGolfArt.org.
In 2018, the Academy exhibited select works of member artists in a special exhibition, The Academy of Golf Art: Artists of the Game, at the Morris Museum of Art, in Augusta, Georgia. The successful three-month exhibition spanned the week of the Masters Tournament. Works displayed included sculpture; paintings in oil, pastel, watercolour and casein; and photography.
