The Lanark Wind Shirt (left) and Lanark Wind Jacket are packed with design features to enable easy swinging while offering protection from the elements

LANARK STRETCH WIND JACKET
This stylish, lightweight, long-sleeve windbreaker is ideal to have tucked into your golf bag at all times of the year. Useful in all weathers, especially when there’s a slight chill in the air, or when the breeze is up, the Lanark Wind Jacket offers 100% wind protection without adding bulk, with its stretchable, recycled polyester material enabling an unrestricted swing with zero billowing.

With a full-front zip for easy removal, and a handy zipped chest pocket to store the all-important scorecard, the jacket features elastic bindings at the sleeve and body hem to ensure a snug fit and prevent drafts.

With Abacus logos on the upper right shoulder and centre back under the collar, this eye-catching jacket is offered in black with an orange contrast or navy blue with a silver contrast for men in sizes S-XXXL. A lady’s option is available in navy/peony in sizes XS – XXL.  RRP: £79.90 (€94.90).

LANARK STRETCH WIND SHIRT
Designed for those all-to-common days on the links when it is windy, yet not too cold, the Lanark Wind Vest boasts many of the same technical features offered in the Lanark Wind Jacket, but in a short sleeve design to allow a little more ventilation and even more freedom of movement.

Made from a thin, windproof fabric made from recycled polyester, and featuring a practical full front zip and zippered chest pocket the windshirt has an elasticated hem at the bottom to prevent wind ingress whilst ensuring the wearer can swing without fear of the jacket interfering with the swing.

Offered in stylish white/navy or grey/white, the Lanark Wind Vest is available in sizes XS to 5XL for men and for ladies it is available in violet/white or white/navy in sizes XS-XXL and should be a staple in any serious golfer’s wardrobe. RRP: £73.90 (€89.90).

Chris Mattsson, Design Manager at Abacus Sportswear said: “The most important thing for windproof golfwear is that it doesn’t adversely impact the golf swing, resulting in a lack of, or restricted movement.  A high amount of stretch in a lightweight material is vital to preventing this from occurring, which is exactly what is offered in both the Lanark jacket and wind shirt.

“Feeling comfortable and being able to maintain the optimum body temperature inside a wind garment is also incredibly important. Key to this is using a fabric with high wicking properties that quickly moves the moisture generated by the body away from the surface of the skin to the outside of the garment keeping the golfer dry from the inside, while preventing the wind from getting in.”
