OCEANTEE has passed a major milestone after selling more than 10 million tees since the pioneering sustainable golf product company launched just four years ago.

Laid end to end, the tees would plot a sustainable path from Augusta to Hoylake, venues for the first and final major championships of the 2023 season.

OCEANTEE is committed to protecting the ocean, reducing plastic pollution, and creating products that are good for players and the planet. This amazing figure demonstrates how a small switch can make a huge difference. The company’s passion has changed golf buying habits for the better, reducing the production of virgin plastic and the pollution that it causes.

“We were astonished to realise that we’d hit the 10 million tee mark,” commented founder of OCEANTEE Ed Sandison. “The progress we have made using bamboo tees as a conversation starter around sustainability has been incredible.  No matter whether we’re speaking to Tours, everyday golfers or PGA Members there is an almost instant recognition that we need to stop using plastic golf tees. In this day and age, it makes no sense.”

The company now offers six different bamboo tee sizes, including two castle tee versions, all of which can be bought in sustainable FSC certified matchboxes or in the new recycled plastic retail bags, which have been treated with a special enzyme to help them biodegrade, from retailers across the UK.  The tees can also be customised for corporate events, making them popular with Tours and tournaments.
