Golf Club Trade-In Events Drive revenue through the Pro Shop

1.00pm 12th May 2023 - Retail

The average golfer has over £100 worth of unused golf clubs sat in their garages, spare rooms and under the stairs and with golf club membership in the UK soaring, there is a lot of equipment sitting untapped. Nearly New Golf Clubs aim is to help Golf Professionals and their shops cash in on this through their Golf Club Trade In event service.

Based in North London, Nearly New Golf Clubs are pre-loved golf club specialists based entirely online, who are creating a community of Pro Shops, fitting centres and golf clubs that they support. As the golfing season reaches full swing, they are expanding their events schedule to help more golf clubs turn clubs into credit.

A Trade In event is designed to drive revenue through Pro Shops by purchasing members’ old and unwanted golf clubs in return for credit to spend in the shop. With the average event driving over £3,000 for the Professional, these events are becoming a welcome regular boost to your income.

“We’ve run three extremely successful events over the past year which have put thousands of pounds worth of pre-paid credit through our till. With the prices of new equipment on the rise and with online competition as high as it’s ever been, Trade In events are a no brainer for us,” said Andrew Hurley, Head Professional at Letchworth Golf Club.

“The feedback we’ve had has been overwhelmingly positive. They really are a triple win. It’s a great revenue driver for the club and also leads to new orders being placed through PGA Professional’s shop on the back of it. They allow members to cash in and clear out their unwanted equipment and it helps us build stock for our website!” said Harry Heptonstall, Founder of Nearly New Golf Clubs

He continued, “These events are developed to drive revenue through the shop. Funds are paid on the day to the Professional, meaning they’ve banked that credit on the day. They are also great for members: It’s the most convenient way for them to clear out their unused and unwanted golf equipment, enabling them to put that towards a new shiny purchase.

“The team at Nearly New Golf Clubs will provide the marketing playbook, physical and digital assets to make promoting the event as effective as possible. They will also take care of the running of the event and the best thing is that there is no cost to running a Trade In Event.”

Based in North London and operating solely online, Nearly New Golf Clubs specialise in second hand golf clubs.

“The company has gone from strength to strength, running events with Professional shops, driving ranges and fitting centres across the United Kingdom,” continues Harry Heptonstall,  “The team are looking to expand the community of golf clubs they support and are continuing to plan their summer schedule. If you’re interested in running an event, please reach out to the team  help@nearlynewgolf.co.uk  and we shall  be more than happy to welcome you.”
