Italian golf fashion brand Duca del Cosma teamed up with Women & Golf, the leading media platform for female golfers, to celebrate the opening of its first UK Ladies Performance Centre with a golf day at Royal Mid-Surrey Golf Club in Richmond, south-west London last week.

A total of 64 women golfers – drawn largely from Women & Golf subscribers and club members – competed on the club’s famous Pam Barton course and witnessed the unveiling of the Performance Centre’s wall-mounted display of the SS23 ladies golf shoe collection in the busy Pro Shop that caters for the largest women’s section in the country.

“The day was a great success and we were delighted to be able to introduce the Performance Centre and our latest women’s range to such a dedicated group of female golfers,” said Duca del Cosma UK Managing Director, Simon Dowell. “Everyone at Women & Golf and Royal Mid-Surrey put a huge amount of work into ensuring the day went smoothly and we were all thrilled with the reaction from those who took part and the number of shoes sold on the day,” he added.

The Duca del Cosma Ladies Performance Centre offers all the shoes and popular sizes in the SS23 collection to enable female golfers to be fitted into the perfect model for them. From the featured packed Alexa model to the stylish Serena, the highly knowledgeable staff at the Royal Mid-Surrey pro shop can ensure that the ideal choice is made for each customer.

“We’re delighted to be the venue for the first Ladies Performance Centre in the UK and have such an impressive display in the shop to attract more lady members and guests to the distinctive Duca range,” said Head Professional Dean Rodgers. “The response from members and guests was really positive and we look forward to selling more Duca shoes during the rest of this season,” he added.

Among competitors taking part were members from the nearby Roehampton Golf Club, as well as media personalities, social influencers and brand ambassadors. Each of the participants received a goodie bag and a Duca del Cosma glove. A series of putting and chipping challenges were staged to give players the chance to win a pair of shoes before the shotgun start – an opportunity taken by two competitors – one holing a 40-foot putt and another chipping directly into a Duca shoe to collect her prize.

The prizegiving featured a selection of sought-after products from Golfbreaks, Motocaddy, Sun Mountain and Arccos. The founder of the Scratch Women website, Caroline Shukla, took first place with 36 points and will soon be heading to Hilton Puckrup Hall on the edge of the Cotswolds for a weekend of golf and relaxation courtesy of Golfbreaks.

“We had a fantastic day at Royal Mid-Surrey in association with Duca del Cosma,” said the editor of Women & Golf, Emma Ballard. “It gave many of our subscribers the chance to play on a special course named after a great female golfer and see all the amazing choices available in the latest Duca range. It’s such a great concept to have a dedicated Ladies Performance Centre and we hope to return to Royal Mid-Surrey in the near future given the welcome it offers to female golfers,” she added.
