Humberts Leisure, the property specialists to the golf and golf hotel industries, has been instructed by Daniel Francis Butters and William Kenneth Dawson (of Deloitte LLP) acting as Joint Administrators of High Legh Park Country Club Ltd (in Administration) & High Legh Holdings plc (in Administration) to market High Legh Park Country Club, in Cheshire.

Offers in the region of £750,000 are invited for the long leasehold (85 year unexpired term) property, which enjoys a commercial trading location in prime Cheshire commuter belt, some 18 miles from Manchester city centre.

High Legh Park Country Club

High Legh Park Country Club is a Mark James designed 27 hole golf course set in Historic Parkland. The layout comprises the North Course (9 holes 3204 yards (par 35)), the South Course (9 holes 3,077 yards (par 35)) and the Lakes Course (9 holes 2,834 yards (par 33)) 18 holes of which are currently in play; along with two practice grounds and extensive practice facilities.

The Club includes a substantial two storey clubhouse with extensive function and conference facilities; and a halfway house. A 5 bedroom cottage is also included with the property.

High Legh Park Country Club commenced trading in 1998 and was acquired by the current absentee owners in 2006.

The strength of the Club’s location, the business’ established membership base and the quality of the facilities point to significant inherent trading potential that can undoubtedly be unlocked by a commercially motivated hands-on owner operator.

The sale is being handled by Ben Allen who comments: ‘High Legh Park Country Club is a fine golf facility that will be of significant appeal to the market. The absentee nature of the current ownership has precipitated the current Administration process, which aims to bring about the sale of the business as a going concern.

“We anticipate that the Club will be sold to a regional purchaser and have a good level of early interest in the property. Offers are required for the business by Tuesday 7th September 2010.’
