Hampshire golf course for sale

7.55am 17th August 2007 - Property

Dunwood Manor Golf Club has developed into one of the county’s foremost golf destinations under the present ownership. The attractive proprietary members’ club is in a rural location just three and a half miles west of Romsey and 11 miles north of Southampton.

The extensive facilities include an 18 hole golf course, period 4 bedroom farmhouse, modern 3 bedroom bungalow and four substantial holiday lodges, all set within about 160 acres. The golf course opened in 1970 and now has a membership of over 600.

The property is on the market at a guide price of £3.25 million and the sale is being handled jointly by Savills Regional Leisure Team in Oxford and Savills Winchester.

Ellis Auger of Savills in Oxford comments, “The current owner has invested heavily in the property over the past ten years, particularly through extensive drainage and irrigation works on the golf course. The result is a first class golf facility in a picture perfect location.

“The development of the purpose built holiday lodges has added further appeal and has enabled Dunwood to compete with a select number of properties nationwide as a desirable golfing holiday destination.

“The guide price has been set at a very competitive level and we anticipate that there will be strong interest from a variety of buyers, which we believe reflects the potential to grow the different facets of the business.”
