First/last golf club for sale

12.10am 20th July 2005 - Property

EU Leisure Ltd has instructed HLL Humberts Leisure, the golf property specialists, to sell Cape Cornwall Golf & Country Club, Cornwall. Offers in excess of £1.0 million are invited for this spectacular property.
Cape Cornwall Golf & Country Club ‘Britain’s first and last 18 hole golf course’ is located at St. Just between Lands End and St. Ives. The club has magnificent views overlooking Cape Cornwall and the rugged north Cornwall coastline. The property comprises an 18 hole 5,632 yard (par 69) golf course designed by Bob Hamilton, golf practice facilities, a well appointed clubhouse with function suite, indoor heated swimming pool, spa, sauna, solarium, and gymnasium together with 8 letting bedrooms. Planning consent has recently been obtained for the conversion of a 19th Century water tower on the property into a three storey owner’s house, which will have outstanding views over the Atlantic.
Established in 1990, Cape Cornwall Golf & Country Club is a proprietary members’ golf and leisure club that enjoys a fine reputation in the area. The business has grown continually over the last three years. During this period the current owners have invested in the golf course and clubhouse facilities, the benefits of which are now being reaped by a contented and growing membership. The club is shortly to host its first county competition.
The sale is being handled by Ben Allen from HLL Humberts Leisure’s Winchester Office who said, “Cape Cornwall Golf & Country Club is a truly exceptional business that will be an ideal acquisition for lifestyle purchasers or existing operators seeking an established and growing business in the popular south west tourist area. Wherever you are on the course the Atlantic is always with you, which provides an infinitely variable golfing experience. We expect strong interest in this unusual property.”
