Awards for Punta Perla

12.30am 6th November 2006 - Property

A major international award has been won by a Cambridgeshire firm marketing residential property at Punta Perla, the luxurious new golf, marina and spa resort taking shape in the Punta Cana region of the Dominican Republic.
Punta Perla Sales Ltd of St Neots also has picked up three further awards for the Caribbean properties it is marketing in the UK and Eire.
Dubbed ‘the Oscars of the property industry,’ they were presented at the International Property Awards 2006 ceremony held in association with the Daily Mail, International Homes magazine and the car maker Bentley at the Marriott Hotel in London’s Grosvenor Square on 3rd November.
Mark Lynn, managing director of Punta Perla Sales Ltd which was invited to enter the resort for the trophies, said that they were a tribute to the professionalism of the entire team, including the developer Paraiso Tropical, the architect B & R Arquitectos Asociados and the contractors FCC, Deconalva SA and Grupo Varma, as well as his own company.
“Confidence in Punta Perla already is at a high level among investors, as proved by the sale of more than 1,200 properties off-plan, and the accolades we received at the awards ceremony provide a further independent endorsement of the exceptionally high calibre of the resort we are creating,” he said.
The master plan for Punta Perla includes around 8,000 homes ranging from golf villas and village townhouses to beach and marina apartments and multi-million dollar luxury mansions.
There will be three signature golf courses – the first designed in association with Colin Montgomerie and EGD (European Golf Design) – four five-star boutique hotels, an international spa and around 60 restaurants.
The low-density developments are set among lush landscaped gardens with automatic irrigation and extensive parkland.
A limited number of 0.35 hectare (0.8 acre) beachfront founders plots are available for investors wishing to build their own villas with floor areas of up to 3,000 sq metres.
Construction of the marina, which will entail the excavation of 517,780 tons of rock, will take two years to complete.
A wide variety of other sporting and leisure facilities are planned, as well as a shopping centre with tax-free shopping status, a hospital and places of worship.
Currently Punta Perla Sales Ltd is selling 51 sq metre (550 sq ft) one-bedroom apartments for as little as US$199,000, and two-bedroom villas on a signature golf course for just US$440,000, but these pre-launch prices are set to rise at the end of this year, ahead of the official launch of the properties.
