Adventure Leisure Ltd, a subsidiary of the Burhill Golf and Leisure group (BGL), is pleased to announce the purchase of World of Golf in Sidcup, situated 13 miles from central London on the south-side of the A20, with the aim to re-launch the Centre this spring.
The newly acquired Adventure Leisure facility boasts a 54-bay, covered driving range, short game practice area with a USGA specified putting green, large pitching and chipping area, and a bunker practice zone; all fully floodlit, allowing practice year-round.
The Operations and Development Director at Adventure Leisure, Hugh Knowles, is excited about the new purchase and says: “Helping to further the enjoyment and love of golf is incredibly important to us. The facilities at the Sidcup site have the potential to be world class, and we’re delighted to have it as part of the Adventure Leisure family.”
The Sidcup performance site not only focuses on the golfing athlete, but players of all levels, with PGA qualified professionals on hand to offer support and tailored tuition for all golfing needs.
The centre provides cutting edge technology with Power Tee mats in every bay, interactive video coaching and the Sam Putt Lab to focus solely on the playing game.
For those wanting a light-hearted activity for all the family, the Lost Island Encounter miniature golf course offers intrepid explorers two 18-hole courses full of tumbling waterfalls, prehistoric caves and lurking dinosaurs.
The Sidcup site is easily accessible from both central and south-east London, and will be the newest addition to Adventure Leisure’s portfolio of venues across the UK.
“Our goal is to make golf fun and accessible to everyone, no matter what age or ability. We hope that the facility in Sidcup will inspire people from the region to come and play golf and fall in love with the sport.” Knowles added.
The offer for sale of World of Golf Sidcup was first reported in May 2015
