Toptracer adds Royal Birkdale to virtual golf portfolio ahead of The 154th Open

Golfers worldwide can now play the venue for The Open and compete for exclusive prizes thanks to special partnership with The R&A.

Toptracer, the world’s number one range technology, has announced that Royal Birkdale, host venue of The 154th Open, is now available to play on virtual golf at Toptracer-powered facilities around the world.

As one of the most celebrated venues in championship golf, Royal Birkdale joins a growing portfolio of iconic courses powered by Toptracer technology, giving golfers the opportunity to experience the challenges of the venue for The Open from their local driving range.

“One of the things that makes golf special is the connection golfers feel to the venues that host the game’s biggest championships,” says Scott Blevins, President and GM of Toptracer. “Royal Birkdale is one of the most recognisable and respected courses in the world and we’re thrilled to give golfers the opportunity to experience it through Toptracer.”

To celebrate the addition of Royal Birkdale Toptracer is partnering with The R&A to host The 154th Open Global Challenge from July 13-19, inviting golfers around the world to test themselves on one of the venue’s most demanding holes.

Players will compete in a closest-to-the-pin challenge on Royal Birkdale’s new par-3 15th hole, a daunting 241-yard test that is expected to play a pivotal role during championship week. Every shot hit through Toptracer will count towards the global leaderboard, with players competing for a range of exclusive prizes from The Open.

The grand prize winner will receive two Sunday tickets to The 155th Open, contested at St Andrews in 2027 and the opportunity to play the famous Old Course the following day.

“Adding Royal Birkdale to our gameplay portfolio is exciting in its own right but combining it with a global competition in partnership with The R&A creates a truly memorable experience for golfers,” continues Blevins. “For one week, players across the world can compete on the same hole that will challenge the best golfers on the planet and potentially earn a once-in-a-lifetime experience at The Open.”

The challenge is open to all golfers playing at participating Toptracer ranges worldwide during the competition period. To find your nearest Toptracer Range or learn more about The 154th Open Global Challenge, visit www.toptracer.com.
