Formby Hall Golf Resort & Spa will open additional coaching slots at its PGA Academy this September in response to growing demand.
The new slots will expand the Academy’s existing coaching programme and give more golfers from Formby, Southport, Liverpool and the surrounding area access to regular tuition at the resort.
The PGA Academy works with players of all ages and levels of experience, from complete beginners to seasoned golfers looking to improve specific parts of their game.
Sessions can cover areas including full swing, putting, short-game technique and other skills, all tailored to each golfer’s level and objectives. Coaching can also make use of Formby Hall’s practice facilities, which include a Toptracer driving range, short-game areas, putting facilities and the nine-hole Woodhey Dunes course.
David Goscombe, Director of Golf at Formby Hall Golf Resort & Spa and PGA Academy coach, said: “We’ve seen strong demand for coaching across different ages and ability levels, so opening more slots in September gives us the chance to welcome more golfers into the Academy. We have a strong team of PGA professionals here, and the extra availability will help us work with more people who want to learn and improve.
Goscombe is a fully qualified PGA Professional with an extensive background in coaching and player development. His role at Formby Hall also includes mentoring coaches across the Academy and ensuring consistent standards are maintained across its tuition programmes
Formby Hall has a long association with professional golf tuition. In 2008, the resort was awarded PGA National Residential Golf Academy status, becoming the first PGA National Residential Golf Academy in the UK.
