Blast Motion launches new AI-powered swing analysis platform

9.56am 1st February 2024 - Practice Range & Teaching

Swing analysis and performance insights company Blast Motion has announced a new AI-powered player development & coaching experience called Blast 2.0.

Blast 2.0 features a redesigned mobile app experience, tiered services, and several new innovations designed to personalize, simplify, and accelerate a player’s improvement journey based on their skillset, swing performance, and level of play.

By expanding the power of Blast iQ, both players and coaches gain the benefit of a personalized AI learning engine that automatically assesses every swing and compares it against the Blast database of 325+ million swings to provide real-time performance insights. Each player’s development journey is further enhanced through the introduction of an industry first innovation called Blast BioSense, designed to help players learn how to improve posture, ‘feel’ the accurate takeaway of a club, and experience a breakthrough in metronome training technology – all through adaptive audio feedback cues.

The Blast 2.0 experience will make it easier for coaches, players, and parents to track improvement through weekly progress reports, challenges, leaderboards, and much more, with a fully redesigned mobile app experience that includes built-in coaching for both iOS and Android. The Blast Clubhouse and Club Membership tiers will be optimized for organizations, coaches, players, and parents and introduce additional, member exclusive content, discounts, and other benefits available to Club members.

The new solutions will start rolling out in late first quarter of the year for golf, and early summer for baseball and softball, further redefining the way people coach, recruit, train, analyse, and improve their game.

“From the very beginning, Blast’s mission has been to deliver innovative solutions to help Blast users learn faster, play better, and have more fun,” said Michael Fitzpatrick, Blast Motion founder and CEO. “We are the leader in all three sports that we offer today, and we’ve helped coaches and players at all levels of play, from aspiring amateurs to colleges, PGA Pros and World Series Champions. We’ve listened to our customers to understand what works and what we can do better. We’ve combined this feedback and the industry’s largest database of swings with Machine Learning and AI technology, to provide our customers with new tools to visualize progress, ‘feel’ improvement, and achieve results.

“We’re excited to announce that we’re putting the finishing touches on our upcoming releases, starting with Blast Golf. With nearly 60% of all golf swings occurring within 100 yards, we’ve optimized the Blast Golf release to help golfers focus and improve every aspect of their short game and putting performance. Top PGA players are always advising amateurs to focus primarily on short game as it is the place where they can improve the fastest and lower their scores. We can’t wait to get our new player development experience in the hands of our customers. It’s your move. It’s time to make the most of it.”

Additional details will be released on a regular basis over the next several weeks, leading up to the release of our next gen mobile apps, Blast Clubhouse and Club memberships, Blast iQ, Blast BioSense™ and other exciting new developments.
