Bentham opens new swing studio

9.20am 2nd February 2024 - Practice Range & Teaching

Bentham Golf Course has opened a new indoor golf studio that will serve to further enhance the facilities on offer at the club, which is located on the Yorkshire/Lancashire border.

Having trialled a swing room after lockdown, Operations Director John Marshall has now moved indoor golf at the club to a new level, investing in a fully equipped studio, which opened for business on February 1.

Designed specifically as an environment for both tuition and fun, The Studio features padded walls and the latest in golf simulation software by Foresight GC Quad. Open to non-members as well as members, golf enthusiasts can use the facility to hone their skills, improving their game with analysis of yardage, ball speed, club data and other assessment of their game.

The club’s golf professional, Sophie Daws, runs The Studio and is on hand to demonstrate how the technology works and she will use the facility in coaching sessions alongside tuition at the driving range and on the course. For those who just want to play for fun, The Studio also offers 25 different courses to play on the simulation software.

Marshall commented: “With the challenges of volatile weather impacting on play outdoors, The Studio provides a perfect environment for our golfers to play all year round. If we have to close the course due to prolonged rain or freezing conditions, we can now offer a rewarding alternative.

“At the other end of the scale, some of our members struggle with the heat in summer and they will now be able to play away indoors away from direct sun.”
