Woosnam’s 30 years with Maxfli

Ian Woosnam (’Woosie’ to his many fans worldwide) celebrated an impressive career landmark last night when his 30-year association with ball manufacturer Maxfli Golf was honoured at a champagne reception at Wentworth,

Woosie, defending champion at this week’s Cisco World Match Play, winner of the 1991 Masters as well as 29 European PGA Tour titles, played Maxfli golf balls even before he first appeared on the European Tour in 1978.

His 30-year Maxfli anniversary coincides with Maxfli Golf’s introduction of three new premium performance balls to the market, each designed to deliver exceptional performance on every type of shot: M3 Tour Red, M3 Tour LT Black and A3 Red. Ian will be playing the M3 Tour Red at this week’s tournament.

“Maxfli has played an important part in my career to date. The high performance of their equipment has helped me in many of my successes over the years. The new ball offerings are exciting and are being very well received on tour,” said Ian.

“It is a remarkable record for a player/brand relationship and one that both Ian and Maxfli are extremely proud of,” said Ian Watts, European sports marketing manager for Maxfli Golf. “Ian has been a fantastic ambassador for the Maxfli brand over the years and will continue to be so, as Maxfli pursues its aim of being the best performance golf ball company in the world”.

Maxfli is continuing with its time-honoured trademark, the Maxfli roundel, to grace each new model. A solid circle surrounded by a thin outer circle, the Maxfli roundel first appeared in 1955 on a “Red” Maxfli and on several subsequent models including the Blue Max. The roundel will be featured on each of the three new premium performance balls.
