Woodbridge Golf Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Paul Lawrence to the position of Head Greenkeeper.

The 27 hole heathland Club are delighted that the Deputy Links Manager from Royal Birkdale has accepted the position and will take up his post on 3rd November. The forward thinking Suffolk club are embarking on a range of structured improvements to the already popular courses and with Lawrence’s experience gained in twenty plus years at Royal Birkdale, it will become the gem of East Anglia.

“I have been fortunate to have worked on numerous Major tournaments in my time at Birkdale and I have enjoyed experiences that most greenkeepers will never get the chance to be involved in. I now look forward to a new challenge at Woodbridge and ensure that all golfers enjoy playing our quality courses,” said Paul Lawrence.

The Club has also recently undergone a review of its management structure and brought in Sean Clark as the new Club Secretary. Clark, a PGA Professional with over 29 years’ experience in the industry at all levels, is looking forward to his new challenge.

Clark commented “It’s such a fabulous set up at Woodbridge and a lovely part of the Country; I just wanted to be part of it. The club has some strategic plans to develop the facilities and services it currently provides, aiming to become the must play course in East Anglia. We are fortunate to have free draining sandy subsoil, which allows year round play on both courses”.
