Trump Turnberry has appointed Blair Harvey as its new Golf Sales Membership Director, with the PGA Professional from Inverclyde looking to build on the success of the resort’s current membership structure.

Harvey brings a wealth of experience from the business world, having worked for Prosports International Qatar in the Middle East where he spent five years as country manager. He successfully helped grow the business to become the largest sports retailer, distributor and events partner in the country.

As well as a business background, Harvey is an avid golfer and a professional player. Starting the game as a 12-year-old at Gourock Golf Club in his hometown - where he remains a member – he turned pro in 2012 and, prior to moving to Qatar, worked as head teaching professional for the Scottish Golf Academy and as assistant professional at Glasgow Golf Club.

Harvey, who will oversee and help drive Turnberry’s membership growth with a number of exciting initiatives, said: “It is a great time to be joining Turnberry and I can’t wait to start working with the fantastic team already in place. I have an unrivalled determination to deliver on all business aspects to a world-class standard and am looking forward to getting started at such an iconic venue and golf course.”

He added: “A boom in golf in recent years means participation numbers are healthier than ever with the game subsequently thriving. It feels like the perfect time to be joining Turnberry as we look to build on our membership success.”

Jane Frazer, Director of Sales & Marketing at Turnberry, said: “We are delighted to be welcoming Blair Harvey. He brings a wealth of experience in both professional golf and business and will be a great addition to the team.”
