Troon Golf’s Board of Directors has announced a change in the company’s leadership. Dana Garmany, the company’s founder, has returned as Chief Executive Officer of Troon Golf replacing Hud Hinton, who is no longer with the company.

The company’s current executive team remains in place as Garmany re-assumes leadership of Troon Golf, having retired from his role as chief executive officer with the company on 31 December 2009.

During the past 12 months Garmany has been chairman of the board. At the time of his retirement he announced that he would remain active in strategic company decisions.

“I want to assure everyone that the company is strong and well positioned for 2011 and beyond,” stated Garmany yesterday. “Troon Golf’s achievements are based on the extraordinary talents of our employees and we will continue to work together to continue the success of the company long into the future.”

Garmany founded Troon Golf in 1990 with Troon North Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz. as its flagship property. Under Garmany’s leadership, Troon Golf grew to become the leader in upscale golf course management, development and marketing, encompassing nearly 200 golf courses in 26 countries and 31 states.

Garmany’s success with Troon Golf, along with 25 years of industry experience developing and operating golf facilities worldwide has garnered countless recognition from golf’s most prestigious accolades, including being named by both Golf Inc. and Golf Digest as one of the most powerful and influential people in golf. Garmany’s influence has undeniably played a major role in redefining and raising the operational standards for domestic and international high-end daily-fee, resort, and private golf courses.

Headquartered in Scottsdale, Ariz., Troon Golf is the world’s largest golf management company, overseeing operations at properties located in 31 states and 23 countries.

Additionally, 45 Troon Golf facilities enjoy a Top 100 ranking by national or international publications. Troon Golf properties include Castiglion del Bosco, Tuscany, Italy; Classic Club, Palm Desert, Calif; Brookwater Golf & Country Club, Queensland, Australia; Mazagan Beach Golf Resort, El Jadida, Morocco; and La Quinta Golf & Country Club, Spain.
