Tom Watt has been appointed Head of Luxury Travel at Your Golf Travel (YGT), and will be responsible for the development of their exclusive golf travel brand and concierge service, due to launch at the end of the year.
Tom, formerly of dialaflight and luxury golf travel specialist, Supertravel Golf, joins the team in a senior management capacity to develop and launch the company’s luxury travel brand.
Having already established themselves as a market leader in great value golf holidays and breaks, YGT are setting their sights on the very top end of the golf travel market and see Tom as an integral part of delivering the route to market.
Andrew Smith, Director of Product, explained: “The emphasis is on experience. A programme designed for that smaller percentage of clients looking to fulfil their golfing dreams…their golfer’s bucket list if you like. We believe Tom is the ideal person to help us achieve this, given his commercial experience and knowledge of developing a programme within this sector, and we are thrilled to welcome him on board.”
YGT already have a foothold in this market sending over 1,000 clients to events such as the Ryder Cup, US Masters and this month’s Solheim Cup as well as working with prestigious resorts as far and wide as Pebble Beach in California and The Old Course Hotel in St. Andrews, Scotland. It is this existing platform and YGT’s successful track record on delivery that appealed to Tom.
Tom Watt: “I am delighted to join Your Golf Travel. I have watched the business develop over the years and this is a really exciting project. I am convinced that with YGT’s connections, reach and ambassadors (including Charley Hull, Lee Westwood and 2016 Ryder Cup Captain and Open Champion, Darren Clarke) combined with my experience in the luxury market that this brand will be a great success.”
Your Golf Travel carries more than 200,000 passengers annually across 25 countries. Based in central London, it sells a range of golf travel products including attendance packages for high profile professional tournaments.
