One of the UK’s leading grounds maintenance equipment consultants is looking to give golf clubs a sharper edge after joining Golf Business International. Tom Stidder, 44, the founder and director of TCS Turfcare Equipment, has more than 22 years’ experience in the technical side of the turf-care machinery business.
From being a dealer technician in the late 1990s to working as an EMEA aftermarket operations manager for a major manufacturer in recent years, he has not only provided technical services, but also produced and delivered a significant amount of technical training at all levels in Europe and the Middle East. His areas of expertise include workshop and machinery condition improvement; staff technical skills development; tournament preparation; sprayer set up and training; and resolving after-cut appearance issues.
The main ethos behind TCS Turfcare Equipment is to help improve the service capability of golf courses, dealers, distributors and manufacturers worldwide. The company looks to reduce operating costs by way of impartial, discreet and bespoke asset management.
Stidder explained: “For me the service side is everything. If you provide good service then everything else falls into place. I am passionate about staying customer focused and improving customer care.
“This ethos can be applied right through from the sportsman using the turf, to the manufacturer, engineer and product manager who designs the machine in the first place. Using hands-on experience and years of repairing machines, supporting customers, dealers and distributors around the world I can save money for clients while reducing their stress.
