The TGI Golf Partnership, Europe’s leading golf retail services group owned by PGA Professionals, has unveiled two new additions to its influential Retail Consultants team.
Peter Smyth and Paul Hay have joined the team as dedicated consultants for Ireland and Scotland respectively, ensuring TGI Golf Partners continue to receive expert retail advice and assistance.
Both have extensive experience with 33-year-old Smyth having previously worked in both retail and golf operations at Celtic Manor and Lough Erne, while Hay, 32, spent the last 14 years in a managerial role at USC, one of the UK’s premier designer clothing stores.
Hay, a two-handicap golfer, is also a semi-professional footballer, captaining Clyde in the Irn-Bru Scottish Third Division. He said: “This is a great opportunity for me to work alongside high quality PGA Professionals and I look forward to supporting our Partners and sharing success with them.”
“Having gained a lot of experience working at resorts I’m looking forward to getting hands on and face-to-face with golf retailers and assisting TGI Golf Partners in Ireland with their businesses,” added Smyth, a keen golfer with a handicap of two and a Degree in Golf & Leisure Management.
Peter and Paul will join Chris Taylor and Senior Retail Consultant Ian Martin to make up the team that assists TGI Golf’s PGA Professional Partners in running successful and profitable businesses across the UK.
Eddie Reid, TGI Golf Managing Director, said: “The expansion of our Retail Consultant team is testament to the hard work, dedication and expertise the guys show in assisting our Partners. The team is one of the most important features of TGI Golf and one that is valued immeasurably by everyone involved with the group.
“Peter and Paul both have an exceptional skill set and they will enhance the professionalism of the team that is already on board, giving us dedicated retail experts in Scotland and Ireland.”
