The distinguished French golf coach Stephane Mourgue, who has inspired golfers worldwide, is to take up the senior teaching role at Domaine de Manville in Les Baux de Provence which opened on 1st June 2014.
Stephane who coached fellow countryman Sebastian Delagrange to victories in the Danish Open and St Omer Open has been the constant mentor for more than 30 tournament professionals – men and women- from numerous countries and is renowned for his expertise on the mental preparation for the sport.
His move to the magnificent new country palace hotel only 45 minutes from Marseilles promises to establish Domaine de Manville as a premier centre of learning excellence for golfing enthusiasts throughout Europe and beyond.
Quite apart from the challenging golf course that follows a route along narrow fairways beside neighbouring olive groves and vineyards, Domaine de Manville provides excellent teaching and learning facilities with 15 practice bays, six greens, a putting green, bunkers and the professional’s teaching area.
Stephane who specialises in helping players progress technically and handle the pressure of competitive play says: “My analysis of the work and behaviours of professional players has enabled me to acquire strong convictions as well as a new way of looking at the evolution and teaching of the sport”.
Domaine de Manville is set on 100 acre former farm in the foothills of the Alpilles Mountains and encompasses a five star country palace hotel with 30 rooms and suites, a gastronomic restaurant and bistro, heated indoor and outdoor pools and a luxurious spa. Surrounding the golf course are nine exquisite stone and glass villas which sleep 6-8 and are available for weekly or shorter rentals. Each villa has a full living room, dining room and kitchen along with three en suite bedrooms and large outdoor terrace.
