Shark launches hunt to find his No.1 fan

The search to find Greg Norman’s biggest fan has been launched by the 65-year-old Australian’s eponymous company.

The overall winner of the competition will receive a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet and play golf with the two-time Open champion.

In addition to round-trip airfare, accommodation and a meet-and-greet, the grand prize winner will also receive a full-set of Cobra golf clubs, a new wardrobe provided by Greg Norman Collection, a Garmin rangefinder and more.

Having received countless letters, heartfelt messages and encounters with fans throughout the years, explaining how Norman has touched their lives, the contest seeks to find the fan with the most impactful story and provide them with the opportunity to connect with the golf legend directly.

Norman said: “Yesterday was my birthday and upon reflection of 65 years of life and a 40-plus year career in golf, one of the most important things in my life have been my fans. They have supported me during my biggest achievements and lifted me up in defeat. Now it’s my turn to give back. This is the first time I have ever done anything like this, and I am very much looking forward to hearing from everyone and ultimately, meeting my ‘biggest fan’!”

Launching today, Greg Norman Company will be conducting a  search throughout North America, UK, Mexico and Australia over the next two weeks. Entries can be made in one of two ways; either via www.shark.com/biggestfan, where entrants can submit an essay on why they are Greg’s biggest fan in 7,500 characters or less; or by via social media, where entrants can post a video of no longer than two minutes in length to their personal social media page (Facebook, Instagram or Twitter) that includes the hashtag #GregNormanBiggestFan in the copy of the post. The profile must be public and  must tag @sharkgregnorman and follow Greg’s page on the corresponding platform (ie. if they post on Facebook, they must follow Greg Norman Company Facebook page).

The contest will run from February 11-25, after which the top three submissions will be selected by Norman and his committee and featured on Shark.com. Norman’s fan community will then be encouraged to vote for their pick for biggest fan, who will ultimately win the trip of a lifetime. The voting period will run from March 2-6 and the winner will be announced publicly on March 10.
