Nick Solski, a former Shrigley Hall member, has been appointed by Braemar Golf as head professional at Zavidovo PGA National Russia.

Solski, a recent recipient of the Advanced PGA Professional status, has strong experience in operating in Eastern Europe having previously held director positions at Le Meridien Vilnius, Lithuania and at Superior Golf & Spa Resort in the Ukraine.

He said: “It has been a long term goal of mine to work for an international management company, and the assignment gives me the opportunity to input my own knowledge of the region to help develop the facility into Russia’s number one golf resort.”

Zavidovo director Phil Jones said: “His experience in Eastern European countries will be very valuable to us as we aim to grow Zavidovo’s business this summer.”

The newly opened golf and residential community features 18-hole championship course, clubhouse with guest rooms and academy.

The PGA National Russia is the only club in the country carrying the prestigious PGA brand and in doing so joins an exclusive band of PGA National facilities including the 2014 Ryder Cup venue Gleneagles and The Belfry.

PGA Head of Property and Development, Guy Moran, commented: “Nick’s success in being appointed to this prestigious role is not only a tremendous personal achievement but also highlights the important role PGA Professionals can play in golf across the world.

“With his expertise and knowledge, I’m sure Nick will be a real asset to Zavidovo PGA National Russia which is already gaining a reputation as one of the best new courses in eastern Europe.”
