Saad Naimi

Troon has announced a number of key appointments, internal promotions and awards from within its industry-renowned team of expertly trained, dedicated and professional staff.

These accolades celebrate the achievements of each individual in their respective fields as they continue to maintain and build on the industry-leading high standards that both owners and consumers have come to expect from Troon. Driven by the company’s global management teams, these personnel consistently display an unsurpassed passion and knowledge, not only about golf, but also about the people they serve both customers and fellow Associates.

In Morocco, Saad Naimi has assumed the position of Golf Director at the much-anticipated Oued Fes resort which sits adjacent to the King’s Royal Palace in the tourism hub of Fes.

As well as being a graduate of the Postgraduate Golf Management program at Les Roches Marbella, he brings with him outstanding managerial and operational skills from working as Golf Operations Manager at another Troon managed facility, Mazagan Beach Resort in El Jadida.

The championship-style golf course at Oued Fes has been designed by the highly respected architect, Jonathan Gaunt and the multipurpose resort will consist of residential, shopping and leisure amenities, with plans for three hotels.

At Las Colinas Golf & Country Club, just south of Alicante in the region of Valencia, Martin Eastgate has been promoted from Golf Course Sales & Marketing Director to the position of Golf Director, in recognition of his hard work, dedication and motivation skills.

Having worked at the facility since it first opened to the public in the summer of 2010, nobody is more knowledgeable and passionate about Las Colinas than Martin. In his time at the facility it has rapidly evolved into a truly world-class destination, having recently been ranked amongst Europe’s Top 100 golf courses and successfully hosting the European Tour Qualifying School in November 2011.

Elsewhere within Troon’s Spanish portfolio, Fabio Peral, Director of Sales & Marketing at Lumine Mediterranea Beach & Golf Community has recently successfully passed his Troon Leadership course with flying colours.

Only 24 candidates from around the world are chosen to participate in this online training programme for future General Managers. As a highly successful and motivated marketing professional, Peral is armed with outstanding communication and management skills, which enable him to effectively establish, maintain and develop marketing strategy and activities at another Troon property that has also been selected to stage European Tour Qualifying School in 2012.

In Dubai, Lisa Cole has taken up the position of Administration and Operations Support Manager at the company’s Middle East Headquarters. An extremely versatile and efficient individual, she has worked for Troon for over eleven years, most recently in an operational capacity in Abu Dhabi for both Abu Dhabi Golf Club and Saadiyat Beach Golf Club.

Awarded Troon ‘Associate of the Year’ in 2008, Lisa will provide invaluable support to all operating facilities and new developments in the region, as well as delivering the Troon experience and upholding the qualities the brand represents.

“We are always on the lookout for new talent to join our team and enhance the experience that we deliver to our clients. Much as I welcome the introduction of fresh ideas and commitment from elsewhere, it’s always a great pleasure to see members of the Troon family progress through the ranks and I firmly believe this is in part testament to our comprehensive and thorough training procedures that position us and our employees at the forefront of the industry,” commented Bruce Glasco, Troon’s Senior Vice-President and Managing Director, International Operations. “I would personally like to congratulate everyone for the consistent hard work and dedication and wish them the best of luck in the new positions, in which I am sure they will continue to thrive. 2012 promises to be another great year for the region and the continued development of our core staff remains crucial to our future growth.”

Finally, there have also been two key new appointments at Meydan, the ground-breaking floodlit 9-hole golf course in Dubai designed by Peter Harradine. New General Manager of Meydan Golf, Paul Dennis has been with Troon for the past 8 years and arrives after a highly successful spell as Director of Golf at The Montgomerie, another Troon managed facility in Dubai. Meydan Golf Superintendent, Dindy Macatlang brings 11 years’ experience within Troon, as a golf course Supervisor, Manager and Superintendent. Both demonstrate the global specialist’s commitment to their latest and most exciting project in theMiddle East.
