Fife-based PGA Fellow Professional coach Julie Otto has opened a new indoor golf facility that will allow golfers to develop their skills and practice both on a simulated range and golf courses.
The Golf Studio, which is situated in Anstruther, just nine miles from St Andrews, brings a unique dynamic to golf coaching, using cutting-edge technology, including Foresight Sport’s GCQuad launch monitor, to enable golfers to work on their technique and skills in a warm and welcoming environment under Otto’s expert guidance.
Suffolk-born Otto won numerous titles at national and international during a hugely successful amateur career, including the British Amateur and the England Amateur, and played in the 1996 Curtis Cup. She then moved into administration of the game, working for the Ladies’ Golf Union in St Andrews before joining The R&A as Assistant Director, Rules.
She completed the PGA Training Programme in 2014 and was named Titleist PGA Assistant of the Year 2015, finishing top of her year in academic studies as well as receiving the highest awards for coaching, equipment technology and business modules of the PGA Foundation Degree in Professional Golf Studies. She is now a mentor to students embarking on a career in professional golf and has a wealth of experience to offer all levels of the game.
Speaking about her latest venture, Otto said: “I am very excited to be opening The Golf Studio. This facility, together with my particular coaching methodology, represents a unique offering for all golfers looking to improve their game. As we go into the winter months, this is an ideal opportunity for golfers to come in to The Golf Studio for some tailored one-to-one coaching.”
“While we continue to see the challenges that COVID presents, we are operating with stringent hygiene and social distancing measures, ensuring the welfare of clients at all times.”
