Faldo “Most Powerful” European in golf

Golf Inc. magazine has Sir Nick Faldo (14), Peter Dawson (15) and George O’Grady (19) as amongst the top 35 Most Powerful Persons in Golf. IMG’s London-based Andreas Doring is a new entrant to the list.

Golf Inc. magazine’s annual “Most Powerful” list highlights 35 individuals judged to have the most ability to influence the development of courses and communities, the operation of courses, the equipment used by golfers and the rules and administration of the game.

Included in the Top 10 are

  • Jack Nicklaus (ranked No. 1 for the sixth consecutive year)
  • Dana Garmany and Hud Hinton, Chairman and CEO of Troon Golf (co-No. 2)
  • Tim Finchem, CEO, PGA Tour (No. 6)
  • Dr David Chu, Chairman, Mission Hills Group (no. 7)
  • Joe Steranka, CEO of PGA of America (ranked No. 8)
  • Greg Norman, Chairman and CEO of Great White Shark Enterprises (No. 10)

The magazine’s annual “Most Powerful” list highlights 35 individuals judged to have the most ability to influence the development of courses and communities, the operation of courses, the equipment used by golfers and the rules and administration of the game.

Among the other top-ranked non-American based entrants are Sir Nick Faldo (14), Chairman of Faldo Golf;  Peter Dawson (15), R&A Secretary and George O’Grady (19), Executive Director, European PGA Tour. IMG’s London-based Andreas Doring, Director of Operations, IMG Golf Course Management, is a new entrant to this list at number 34.

The only woman on the list is Cindy Davis, President of Nike Golf, who is ranked number 30.
