New Director at Brocket Hall

Brocket Hall in Welwyn, Hertfordshire – one of England´s finest golf and residential estates – has just appointed Peter Tschernitz as golf club director.

Brocket Hall, which this year celebrates the 250th anniversary of the stately home and has entertained world leaders is a private members club that is also open to visitors and corporate golf days.

It has 36 holes of championship-standard golf and the prestigious Palmerston Golf Academy – formerly the home of the Faldo Golf Institute – is a centre of excellence for many young amateur golfers.

Peter, who joins the club from Austria, where he was general manager of a 440 room hotel and members club, has eighteen years experience of the golf and hospitality sectors and is eminently well qualified to lead Brocket Hall on to greater things.

Before returning to his home country of Austria, Peter, who graduated from Florida State University with an MBA in business and hospitality management as well as completing the US PGA accredited golf course management programme, held senior executive positions at prestigious clubs and resorts the USA.

As general manager of Feather Sound Golf & Country Club in Clearwater, Crown Colony Golf & Country Club Resort in Ft Myers, The Sanctuary in Sanibel Island and Westminster Golf & Country club in Ft Myers, he managed all aspects of club and resort operations, marketing, membership and residential sales while assuming responsibility for financial control and profit delivery.

Peter has a proven track record in the successful delivery of major strategic change and improved performance as general manager of high end private clubs, in Europe as well as the USA. His experience and proven leadership has resulted in the achievement of numerous outstanding awards for some of the clubs he has managed including the Sanctuary on Sanibel Island which was voted ´Top 10 Best Private Golf Resort in the US´ (1995 – 1998) and Westminster Golf & Country Club which garnered ´Best New Semi–Private Club in Florida´.

Of his new role at Brocket Hall Peter explains, “I am delighted to be leading a new and dynamic team that is solely focused upon driving the club forward.  We have two highly regarded golf courses which I am determined to improve further, one of the best golf academies in the UK which will become the hub of residential and day clinics, accommodation at Melbourne lodge and fabulous additional amenities at the stately home and Michelin-starred restaurant.
