New Chairman for Golf Consultants

The Golf Consultants Association is an independent private sector association of professionals with a wealth of expertise representing a one stop shop for anyone with a commercial interest in golf operations and development

At the Annual General Meeting of the Golf Consultants Association held last week, John Ashworth of John Ashworth Associates was elected Chairman of the Association following on from Stephen Proctor of Sports Marketing Surveys who stood down at the end of his year in office.

The Golf Consultants Association is an independent private sector association of professionals with a wealth of expertise based on the delivery of pragmatic solutions for golf developers and operators across the world in all the disciplines required to launch and run a golf business. GCA represents a one stop shop for anyone with a commercial interest in golf.

“2002 has been a successful year for the Association and its members,” said John Ashworth “but we are looking for even more success in 2003. Many golf businesses in the UK need expert outside help in areas such as marketing, operations and funding, following a difficult 12 month trading period. Yet there are still opportunities for new golf developments, particularly in Europe and Asia, and for initiatives that respond to the growing demand for golf tourism. We want to make GCA the first port of call for golf developers, operators and funders in all these areas of the business.”

Further information about GCA can be obtained from the association’s secretary, Jacqui Baldwin, on 024 76 414 999 or by email to gca@sportslife.org.uk.
