Fletcher Europe Limited, the owners of Sunice and licensees of Tommy Hilfiger golf, has made its first internal appointment since its change of ownership.  Peter Bannington joins the company as Regional Manager for the Midlands and North Wales.

Bannington began his career in the clothing industry over thirty years ago, moving into the golf industry in 1991. He was influential in the rise of Oscar Jacobson, working with the company until 2010, at which time he joined abacus.  During his time at abacus not only did he grow the business in the UK but was also instrumental in securing long term sponsorships including the Ryder Cup.

“Everyone is aware that we have gone through a difficult transitional period in the last few months, but Peter’s appointment marks the start of a new era for us.  This is a crucial time for our brands and we need to have the very best people involved so I am delighted to welcome Peter to the Fletcher family,” comments Fletcher Europe’s Managing Director, Jon Camp.

As Regional Manager, Bannington will be responsible for Tommy Hilfiger golf, Sunice and AUR brands.  He comments, “I am excited to join Fletchers at this point in the company’s development.  The new team in Canada is keen to work with us to develop ranges that are exclusively tailored to our market and I can’t wait to present them to current and new customers in the region.”

As Fletchers prepares to set out on the road with its AW14 ranges the announcement of this appointment couldn’t be more perfectly timed and sends out a positive message about the future of the company as a whole.

Fletcher Leisure Group, based in Montreal, Quebec, is a company with 47 years of golf industry experience marketing multiple brands in Canada, the United States, Europe and the UK. Brands that make up the Fletcher portfolio include wholly owned AUR and Sunice.
