Titleist, the #1 ball in golf, has announced Michael Creighton as the new Titleist Golf Ball Manager, following on from his impressive work as Key Account Manager within the UK. In his new role, Creighton will lead all golf ball product management and marketing operations for the UK region, while also providing best practice and guidance for the Titleist Brand teams throughout Europe.
Creighton builds upon his fantastic career with the Titleist brand, which started in 2008, coming from a marketing background as he was appointed as Titleist Area Sales Manager, looking after the Titleist accounts across the Midlands. He then went on to become Key Account Manager in late 2012, where his brand-first approach has developed deep relationships with a number of Titleist’s largest retail accounts and online partners across the UK.
Matthew Johnson, Titleist Brand Director, explained more about the significant appointment: “This is an excellent appointment for the whole team, Michael’s experience of working for the brand as an ASM, and most recently as a Key Account Manager will be invaluable in working with our sales and fitting teams as we evolve golf ball fitting, education, merchandising, promotional and sales activities.
“Michael has always operated with the upmost professionalism and has an exceptional knowledge of the Titleist brand and our market leading products. In his role as Key Account Manager, Michael’s relationships with some of our major accounts and online partners not only lead to excellent results in this channel, but also provided stability for our sales team to grow in the on-course segment.”
In his new role, Creighton will be working to develop and implement Titleist’s marketing and sales strategies for its best-in-class premium performance, performance and Pinnacle products, as it looks to continue building upon the brand’s industry leading position as the #1 ball for golfers at all levels of the game.
Creighton commented upon his excitement on taking up the new role: “Titleist golf balls are the heartbeat of the Acushnet company and it is a great honour to be given the opportunity to manage this exciting product category. With this year welcoming the launch of our best ever line up of Performance golf ball products, following on from such a successful 2015 which saw the launch of New Pro V1 & Pro V1x, resulting in a 5 year high for on-course market share, the Titleist golf ball business has some great momentum as we head into the 2016 season.”
