MediaDrive, Europe’s largest digital golf advertising provider, today announced the appointment of Michael Smyth to the position of Golf Advertising Manager effective from 29th September.

Smyth hails from Northern Ireland and has spent the majority of his working life in and around the golf industry. Prior to his most recent post of six years at Golfmagic.com he previously represented The Golf Channel UK on the BSkyB EPG for four years, selling airtime and sponsorship.

Michael said: “I feel totally privileged to have worked in the industry for as long as I have, but the excitement levels have taken a notch up on agreeing to join Simon and the MediaDrive team. The reach and targeting capabilities of the Mediadrive portfolio with PGAtour.com at the apex is one that every brand should least be aware of – I look forward to helping Simon and his team do exactly that.”

MediaDrive MD, Simon Bale, said: “We have come a long way in the past few years and our portfolio of websites now boasts the finest in the industry. We need the best people to help represent these websites and I know Michael is extremely highly regarded in this sector. We’re very fortunate to have someone of his pedigree and experience and we look forward to him helping to drive the business forward, not only from and UK and Ireland standpoint but throughout the rest of Europe.

“Having experienced exception growth in our first four years, with Michael’s help we aim to become the first port of call for golf and affluent lifestyle advertisers when planning their digital media campaigns.”
