When Lyall took over the running of Doncaster Golf Range he highlighted areas in which he wanted to improve the customer journey across the site. He added the simulator room for custom fitting and for competitions throughout the winter for his regulars who were unable to access their own courses. This was well received and has been a welcome addition to his business.
The range has always performed well but Lyall wanted to take it to the next level of experience for his customers.
The first thing Lyall did was upgrade his Power Tees on site to the latest version as he sees how much his wide variety of customer base love using them. Having wannabe tour players through to absolute beginners he wanted to ensure everyone benefitted from the best surface to hit from.
Covid 19 then hit the UK in 2020 and everyone was thrown into panic! Wondering what was going to happen, wondering if the business would open again, obviously hit Lyall the same as any retailer. Once Lockdown 1 had passed and the return to golf was strong Lyall set about future-proofing his business.
Ever the pragmatist Lyall looked at all of his options as to how he wanted to shape his business moving forward. Having spent 2020 in and out of lockdowns when 2021 approached Lyall had made his decision to secure the business moving forward and make his range a place that not just golfers but non golfers alike would frequent once there was other options available to the general public.
Lyall said: “I decided to add more Power Tees to my range as I want every bay to have the best possible offering for my customers, the best artificial mats to hit from and the multiple tee heights mean that my social range user and my wannabe tour pro can get everything they need out of one bay. That being Power Tee.”
Lyall has also agreed to install Trackman Range at Doncaster as a further addition in future proofing his business. Lyall added “I had to make a decision on how I wanted my range to look and feel and having the best technology available to my customers was of paramount importance to me! All of my customers know that I put their enjoyment at the forefront of everything me and my team do here for them. Coupling tracking technology with Power Tee was an absolute no brainer for me and I cannot wait for it all to be completed and see the look on my customers faces!”
