The LPGA is restructuring its marketing team following the departure of chief marketing officer Chad Coleman less than a year after his appointment.
Coleman, previously chief brand officer at sports entertainment group Dude Perfect, has stepped down for family reasons just eight months into the role. The tour has said that it will not be seeking a direct replacement, instead appointing Taylor Strick as senior vice president of marketing.
Strick, formerly global head of partnerships at Aon, will lead the marketing team and oversee the LPGA’s social media operation. Ryan Ogle, previously championship director of the PGA of America, is also joining to oversee operations for the Solheim Cup and CME Group Tour Championship.
“Chad Coleman has made the personal decision to step down from his role with the LPGA to be present with his family, and we respect that decision,” an LPGA spokesperson said. “We’re grateful for everything he’s helped build here, and we wish Chad and his family all the best in what’s next.”
Coleman’s remit covered global marketing, brand, communications, content and fan engagement, with a focus on expanding audiences, attracting younger fans and strengthening player storytelling. He brought 15 years of sports and entertainment experience to the role, including eight years at Callaway Golf. At Dude Perfect, he helped double its global following to more than 120 million.
