LGU plans for the future

9.15am 24th February 2003 - People

As part of a strategic review of its activities and functions, the Ladies’ Golf Union has conducted a staff structural review.

The main objectives are:

1. To identify a structure that will enable progress and growth

2. To enable a new focus on its members

3. To improve productivity

4. To offer vastly improved service levels to members and the general public

5. To reduce over-reliance on voluntary committee members

Andy Salmon, the LGU CEO said, “As the LGU takes a good look at itself and sets objectives for the years ahead, it is vital that we have a staff structure in place to enable growth and development. Also, we need a structure that will allow us to place far more focus on our members and the level of service we offer to them. Clearly, any restructuring is a very difficult process but we can now look forward to developing the team and building for the future.”

The Championship department will still be headed by Susan Simpson, Championship Secretary, assisted by Championship Assistant, Laura Rushby. Jane Fleming assumes the position of Member Services Manager.

Three additional staff positions are currently being advertised.

Director of Administration and Finance – To manage all administrative, IT and financial aspects of LGU activity.

Championship Assistant – To assist with the co-ordination of Championships and other LGU events.

Admin Assistant – To assist in the day to day running of the office.
