Nike Golf today announced the appointment of Jon Greathead to the position of EMEA PR and Social manager, effective December.
Greathead, 31, is an experienced sports journalist with a solid track record of generating stories and reporting on golf. His current position at the Daily Mail has seen him writing for the iPad and Kindle editions of Mail Plus Sport, covering a wide variety of sports including golf.
In his four-year stint as equipment editor at Today’s Golfer magazine he was responsible for overseeing a large portion of the publication each month as well as planning and delivering online content. During his time on the magazine he gained an in-depth understanding of the equipment market and golf equipment technology as well as covering both the PGA and European Tours, interviewing some of the world’s most well known golfers.

Jon comes to Nike with a superb pedigree in golf and an excellent understanding of the industry at what is an exciting time in our brand’s development. He will be a fantastic addition to the marketing team and indeed to the company. His experience as a journalist will be a real asset to us and we are looking forward to him starting in December.”
Jon will take over the PR baton from Renaissance PR who has been Nike Golf’s PR agency of note for the last 14 years.

Greathead will relocate with his wife and young daughter to Nike’s European headquarters in the Netherlands and will report to recently appointed marketing director Dan Schenk.
